Race History

The race started as a fund raising in 1993 to raise funds for Mauritian charities and NGO’s. Over the years the race has seen a large number of Mauritians and expats of all generation taking part.

The NGO's we have previously supported

The goal of SOS Children’s Villages is to help children needing alternative care for an independent future. SOS Children’s Villages is supporting thousands of needy children, young people and families in 136 countries and territories.

 

Quartier de Lumière is a Mauritian association created in 2006 to help the most deprived people with housing, education of their children and  general well-being with the objective that they take charge and become fully autonomous.

 

The Association Pour les Handicapés De Malherbes was established in 2006. The school provides special education to children between the age of 5 to 25 with intellectual impairments, Cerebral Palsy and related conditions.<br>

 

SAFIRE was created in May 2006 with the objective of continuing the program undertaken by the Ministry of Social Security jointly with UNICEF to provide assistance to children in street situations with a view to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into society.
